Intercultural Movie Presentations (100 points, 4-6 minutes)
Once you have read your assigned chapter for this assignment, please visit the Great Movies page and choose a movie to watch. If you have netflix or another on-line video service it will be easy to find any of these films. If you don't have one of these you might scroll to the bottom to find a few films that are available in your local video store.
In order to complete the assignment you may find that you need to watch the film more than once.
You can view your assigned chapter here.
Please follow the below format for your presentation:
Introduction
Begin with a brief synopsis of the film, feel free to use a synopsis from IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes or Netflix. The synopsis should take no more than 1 minute (please practice this....one student last semester had a 5 minute synopsis!)
Then bridge to your thesis statement (a sentence that tells me what the topic of your presentation will be) and…
Preview your main points (tell us what each of the main ideas in your presentation will be).
Body
Begin by telling us what you will talk about in your first main point.
1) Cite and explain the concept from the text that is of importance in this main point.
2)Give an example from your intercultural experience that proves that main point.
(1) and (2) can be switched if it will improve the flow.
Next, review the main idea from the first main point then tell us what you will talk about in the second main point.
1) Cite and explain the concept from the text that is of importance in this main point.
2)Give an example from your intercultural experience that proves that main point.

Conclusion
Review your thesis statement and main points. End with a powerful and memorable final sentence related to your topic.
